The real victim here are their kids. They’ll have plenty of money from book deals that will be coming out in couple of years. But from those book deals will grow the mentality that to be rich and famous you simply has to generate a scandal about yourself. Eliot your promiscuous ways have destroyed your child. Silda, your purposely looking the other way has also damaged your kids for the rest of their lives.

The both of you need to leave the spotlight, go to a real church, and seek counseling. Then, and only then, you might be able to salvage you and your kids’ souls.

Some peoplehave this image that founding father were kind and gentle souls who would never hurt a fly. In reality they were kind and gentle, until you tries to steal their freedoms. Benjamin Franklin once wrote on how welfare steals a man’s freedom. Here is the historical document from http://www.historicaldocuments.com/OnthePriceofCorn.htm:

On the Price of Corn and Management of the Poor

Benjamin Franklin
November 27-29, 1766
To Messieurs the PUBLIC and Co. I am one of that class of people that feeds you all, and at present is abusd by you all; in short I am a Farmer.

By your News-papers we are told, that God had sent a very short harvest to some other countries of Europe. I thought this might be in favour to Old England; and that now we should get a good price for our grain, which would bring in millions among us, and make us flow in money, that to be sure is scarce enough.

But the wisdom of Government forbad the exportation.

Well, says I, then we must be content with the market price at home.

No, says my Lords the mob, you shant have that. Bring your corn to market if you dare; well sell it for you, for less money, or take it for nothing.

Being thus attackd by both ends of the Constitution, the head and the tail of Government, what am I to do?

Must I keep my corn in barn to feed and increase the breed of rats? be it so; they cannot be less thankful than those I have been used to feed.

Are we Farmers the only people to be grudged the profits of honest labour? And why? One of the late scribblers against us gives a bill of fare of the provisions at my daughters wedding, and proclaims to all the world that we had the insolence to eat beef and pudding! Has he never read that precept in the good book, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn; or does he think us less worthy of good living than our oxen?

O, but the Manufacturers! the Manufacturers! they are to be favourd, and they must have bread at a cheap rate!

Hark-ye, Mr. Oaf; The Farmers live splendidly, you say. And pray, would you have them hoard the money they get? Their fine cloaths and furniture, do they make them themselves, or for one another, and so keep the money among them? Or do they employ these your darling Manufacturers, and so scatter it again all over the nation?

My wool would produce me a better price if it were sufferd to go to foreign markets. But that, Messieurs the Public, your laws will not permit. It must be kept all at home, that our dear Manufacturers may have it the cheaper. And then, having yourselves thus lessened our encouragement for raising sheep, you curse us for the scarcity of mutton!

I have heard my grandfather say, that the Farmers submitted to the prohibition on the exportation of wool, being made to expect and believe, that when the Manufacturer bought his wool cheaper, they should have their cloth cheaper. But the deuce a bit. It has been growing dearer and dearer from that day to this. How so? why truly the cloth is exported; and that keeps up the price.

Now if it be a good principle, that the exportation of a commodity is to be restraind, that so our own people at home may have it the cheaper, stick to that principle, and go thorough stitch with it. Prohibit the exportation of your cloth, your leather and shoes, your iron ware, and your manufactures of all sorts, to make them all cheaper at home. And cheap enough they will be, Ill warrant youtill people leave off making them.

Some folks seem to think they ought never to be easy, till England becomes another Lubberland where tis fancied the streets are paved with penny rolls, the houses tiled with pancakes, and chickens ready roasted cry, come eat me.

I say, when you are sure you have got a good principle, stick to it, and carry it thorough. I hear tis said, that though it was necessary and right for the My to advise a prohibition of the exportation of corn, yet it was contrary to law; and also, that though it was contrary to law for the mob to obstruct the waggons, yet it was necessary and right. Just the same thing, to a tittle. Now they tell me, an act of indemnity ought to pass in favour of the My, to secure them from the consequences of having acted illegally. If so, pass another in favour of the mob. Others say, some of the mob ought to be hanged, by way of example. If so, but I say no more than I have said before, when you are sure that you have got a good principle, go thorough with it.

You say, poor labourers cannot afford to buy bread at a high price, unless they had higher wages. Possibly. But how shall we Farmers be able to afford our labourers higher wages, if you will not allow us to get, when we might have it, a higher price for our corn?

By all I can learn, we should at least have had a guinea a quarter more if the exportation had been allowed. And this money England would have got from foreigners.

But, it seems, we Farmers must take so much less, that the poor may have it so much cheaper.

This operates then as a tax for the maintenance of the poor. A very good thing, you will say. But I ask, Why a partial tax? Why laid on us Farmers only? If it be a good thing, pray, Messrs. the Public, take your share of it, by indemnifying us a little out of your public treasury. In doing a good thing there is both honour and pleasure; you are welcome to your part of both.

For my own part, I am not so well satisfied of the goodness of this thing. I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. There is no country in the world where so many provisions are established for them; so many hospitals to receive them when they are sick or lame, founded and maintained by voluntary charities; so many alms-houses for the aged of both sexes, together with a solemn general law made by the rich to subject their estates to a heavy tax for the support of the poor. Under all these obligations, are our poor modest, humble, and thankful; and do they use their best endeavors to maintain themselves, and lighten our shoulders of this burthen? On the contrary, I affirm that there is no country in the world in which the poor are more idle, dissolute, drunken, and insolent. The day you passed that act, you took away from before their eyes the greatest of all inducements to industry, frugality, and sobriety, by giving them a dependence on somewhat else than a careful accumulation during youth and health, for support in age or sickness. In short, you offered a premium for the encouragement of idleness, and you should not now wonder that it has had its effect in the increase of poverty. Repeal that law, and you will soon see a change in their manners. St. Monday, and St. Tuesday, will cease to be holidays. SIX days shalt thou labour, though one of the old commandments long treated as out of date, will again be looked upon as a respectable precept; industry will increase, and with it plenty among the lower people; their circumstances will mend, and more will be done for their happiness by inuring them to provide for themselves, than could be done by dividing all your estates among them.

Excuse me, Messrs. the Public, if upon this interesting subject, I put you to the trouble of reading a little of my nonsense. I am sure I have lately read a great deal of yours; and therefore from you (at least from those of you who are writers) I deserve a little indulgence. I am, yours, &c.

I got this clay recipe off the website below:

http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf681300.tip.html

Polymer clay can be expensive, but it’s so easy to make, and you can color it with food coloring. The best food coloring is the paste colors that cake decorators use. They last forever.

The recipe is:

ONE PART CORNSTARCH TO ONE PART WHITE GLUE (LIKE ELMERS GLUE).

That’s it. If you want it thinner, just add water. How Cheap Is That.

By Ardis Barnes

Editor’s Note: There were many questions about this recipe. Fortunately, Ardis submitted another tip that may help people understand the process. Here it is:

MAKE YOUR OWN POLYMER CLAY CHEAP

Mix equal amounts of elmers glue and cornstarch. Form it into your favorite form and let it dry at least overnight. If you want to make beads, leave a toothpick in it while it dries.

I’m a Raggedy Ann buff so I make round flat forms to make Raggedy Ann pins and magnets. I do the faces with fine tip permanent markers. I just need red and black for that. The forms can be sprayed with sealer that comes in a spray can meant for clay type crafts. It can be colored with food coloring too. The best food coloring is the paste type that’s used for cake decorating, and it lasts forever. How easy is this, Ha!

Additional Notes:

1. All Glue based clays should not be baked. They are air dry only.

2. The thickness of the glue will affect the type of clay you end up with. A fine thin glue will give you a look of porcelain.

3. You can add acrylic paint for the colour at the time you mix your clay.

4. Your options for colour are endless.

5. Projects will shrink. Keep this in mind

6. The clay will keep for months if wrapped tightly in the fridge.

7. Projects will last for years if kept dry.

8. Seal with Minwax water based varnish.(Gloss, Satin or matt) and they will survive forever.

9. OK. The glue is the polymer.

10. The cornstarch is the filler. Could be bread or flour or a mix of fine grain substances…. Salt, baking soda etc.

If you read an article on AlterNet you would think that a Sunni tribe leader was the next George Washington. Kaissar Saady al-Juboory killed two US soldiers and injured three others when he says he was a pregnant women being dragged out of a house by her hair. The Sunni tribes are having a hay day with this. They think Kaissar is a national hero. Here’s where they’re wrong.

Kaissar broke his oath as a soldier when he shoot his own colleagues. This woman was in no apparent danger other then being dragged. Sharia law also states that a woman is worth 1/3 of a man so he he shouldn’t have been so outraged. Early reports have come out saying that guy may be part of an extremist Sunni independence organization.

This man is a killer. He has killed his own comrades. He should be put up for trial for his war crimes.

Finally after vigorously hit add to cart button until about 3:00 pm and got the dreaded ‘out of stock’ page even though a customer service rep told me they would be available in five minutes. So proceeded to go through the support chat to see if something had happened and had this conversation:

I am one step away from saying I hate Nintendo. I have owned and loved every single US released console system until the Wii. No, Virtual Boy does not count as a console. As such I really want a Wii and have been touting it since its release.

My wife has indirectly (read sacasically and with much venom) stated that she thinks I’m a complete and utter idiot for wanting one. I know she hates hearing me talk about it constantly but shes bored when I talking about my other interest. At least she has some emotion when I talk about Wii. Yeah, I know nerd alert.

That really hurts me because there a few items she wanted for a long time and she finally is getting them this year but I can’t get what I’ve wanted for couple of years. I’m still working with a computer that barely runs. I’m still driving a crappy car that should junked out. Yet we can never seem to get enough money to get it fixed while I’m going to college and working two jobs.

Today I’ve received 3 unique alerts from various Wii tracking websites. The first alert hit my mailbox as soon as it was released. That sounds great, right? Sure except I had to go through a third party to see which website had the offer and guess what? The third party website was offline for 20 minutes. When the third party came back online Sears, the place with the system, still had them in-stock. When I clicked add to cart I got a nice message that said ‘We’re sold out of that item, so we’re removing it from your cart.’ Screw you Sears.

I got my next alert but that place was sold-out. Fair enough.

I then got another alert that was sent generated 15 minutes before it was sent. The service even had the courtesy to tell me when it generated the text of the message and when it sent it. So I went to Amazon, the retailer that had the Wii, and they had an “Add to Cart” available. Great, I added the item and I get a ‘Sold Out’ message with links to other packages that might not be sold out. Screw you Amazon.

So yeah that bitter taste I’ve had from Nintendo and their sales practices is turning rancid.

I have been hunting for a Wii for over a year. I really enjoy playing video games but carpel tunnel from work is making it hard for me to play on a normal controller. Also I really like Nintendo because they usually makes high quality games. So with both of these factors, I’ve really wanted a Wii. Getting a Wii would be a wonderful alternative to XBox and a PS3 is just way out of my price range.

Questions: so where can you get a Wii? Answer: Nowhere. Its been in production for two years and Nintendo says they still can’t fill demand? Come off it Nintendo. If it was the night before Christmas then I would agree, but its been nearly 2 years. Now either you’ve completely screwed up production and you’re lying about the number shipped or you’re holding out to keep demand high so that you don’t have lower price like XBox and Playstation.

I demand that either a legal probe be done into price possible price fixing or a class action lawsuit be filed. Nintendo, this is ridiculous.

From a recent post on Digg:

Winning the Nobel Peace Prize sparked all the Gore talk, which has also been fanned by a certain reluctance among many Democrats to embrace the current favorite, Clinton, or Barack Obama or John Edwards. Another plus for Gore is his position on the Iraq war. He warned against the war before it started.

The reason I posted this article isn’t because I supported Al Gore. This is a well-written piece about all the major Democratic candidates’ strengths and weaknesses, while comparing Gore to historic presidential runs. Gore has a good chance of winning the party’s nomination IF Hillary is derailed before February. After that he only has to run on star appeal against the party that took us into a war that is dragging put.

Hint Republicans: Start doing the will of the people. Either untie the militaries’ and border guards’ hands or pull out.
