DFW Elite Auto Rental.com in Texas now lets you rent an armored 2006 Hummer H2. That right, your personal safety is number one when you need to go to the prom. You never know when one of those corsages maybe actually be an IED. Or there maybe a terrorist hiding behind your punch bowl.

I love this line in this press release:

“Personal safety has become one of the main issues people are concerned with today,” Sturgeon says. “It used to be that armored cars were only used for military purposes or for transporting valuables. But today, people are relying on them more and more for basic transportation.”

I’m sorry but unless your a diplomat, going into a disaster zone, or the mayor of Boston running from Mooninites what do you have to rent an armored anything?

Yeah, this one has me scratching my head to. According to Science Daily, “A warming trend during the last few decades in the Antarctic Peninsula has already forced penguin populations to migrate south and perhaps diminished the abundance of krill that are at the base of the massive food chain at the bottom of the world.”

So the warmer weather is making penguins go to warm climates? The penguins migration has diminished the krill?

What really bothers me about this article is the subjective language. Here one example:

“The data implies that there may be less food there as the temperatures rise,” he said.

I guess if they’ve been doing this research for nearly a decade they would have an effective was to count krill in the area. My personal opinion is the warmer water has let the krill multiple ten fold and the penguins no longer have to fight territory. So the different species are moving to milder climates.

Here’s the update on RegisterFly.com.  After three weeks of email and no responses I finally got my answer.  Thise domains you own, you don’t own them.  We never cleared the charges on your credit card so you only got a reference to the record, not the actual domain registration. 

So all these month with an account that said I had a bunch of domain and have been recieving renewal requests have been for nothing.  My word of advice: pay a little more and go with some place a little more reputable like Force Domain (a division of GoDaddy).
