Zombie Pigs Genetically Altered to be Plants

Form the original Digg Post:
GM scientists are actively investigating ways to remove the stress and aggression gene from animals, effectively turning them into complacent zombies. It might become technically possible to produce “animal vegetables” - beasts which are “highly prolific and oblivious to their physical and mental status”

My Comments: I not so much worried about this for now because there will be some time and testing before these animals hit the open market. But think about the further implications:

1. If these animals breed with the wild version we will create a unfeeling, possible violent, creature. These creatures will in essence feel no real pain or at least no stress from the pain. The animals main focus will be to eat and breed. Our environments will become completely overburdened. Environmentalists will not let us hunt them because we would be effecting a native species even though they maybe killing people and and other animals in the process.
2. Eugenics in human. We literally would have to research for some place to breed the perfect super soldier and slave class. So many of swine genes have been mapped to human its scary. Now take some country like China who has no qualms about genetic research into. Do you think they would wait to do the research into? Hell no. They would use it quietly build an army and then sell the genetic samples to Iran.

These are scary scenarios and both scenario are very plausible.
