I have been getting the same error for months. I’ve finally have had and have written a lengthy service thicket. Here’s my latest round of errors:

Zombie Pigs Genetically Altered to be Plants
Form the original Digg Post:
GM scientists are actively investigating ways to remove the stress and aggression gene from animals, effectively turning them into complacent zombies. It might become technically possible to produce “animal vegetables” - beasts which are “highly prolific and oblivious to their physical and mental status”
My Comments: I not so much worried about this for now because there will be some time and testing before these animals hit the open market. But think about the further implications:
1. If these animals breed with the wild version we will create a unfeeling, possible violent, creature. These creatures will in essence feel no real pain or at least no stress from the pain. The animals main focus will be to eat and breed. Our environments will become completely overburdened. Environmentalists will not let us hunt them because we would be effecting a native species even though they maybe killing people and and other animals in the process.
2. Eugenics in human. We literally would have to research for some place to breed the perfect super soldier and slave class. So many of swine genes have been mapped to human its scary. Now take some country like China who has no qualms about genetic research into. Do you think they would wait to do the research into? Hell no. They would use it quietly build an army and then sell the genetic samples to Iran.
These are scary scenarios and both scenario are very plausible.
House passes bill to help keep us druged
The Democrats today passed a bill in the US house to:
- negotiate with drug companies in an effort to lower prices for Medicare recipients (1)
- require Medicare offer a broad array of drugs to seniors (1)
- a Republican-backed amendment that significantly expands the number of special projects, or earmarks, that must be made public under new disclosure rules (1)
Government should never be forced to pay for my health care or my drugs. Negotiate with drug companies on my behalf is nice, but I should expect congress to do it for me. The market and coalitions within the market should work together to get me what I need.

Update: Saturday 7:15 am - When I had originally posted this I was trying to NOT turn this into a Republican vs Democrat issue. What this is is goverment trying (with fair amount of success) to become the nanny state. The world as we know it existed before social security and will exisit long after social security has left us. Which if Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would be tommorow.
The other part about this is that it was the Republicans who added the measure for full disclosour on bill details. I only agree with the Republican party’s platform about 75% of the time anymore but this is a briliant idea. Now lets hope this add-on makes it through the Senate version.
